This was our first visit to Cafe Bama in east Tucson, not our last. While it was not the best there is potential and we'll try them again. Their pizza crust was good and cooked in a real oven. We didn't have one of their pizzas yet so we look forward to trying one
We visited on a weekday afternoon. We were the only customers. We waited for the guy to get off the phone for a while, and he let us know we could seat ourselves..
So we sat for a while watching the 700 club (which was on the TV) and read the menu.
Their menu is very interesting. Many unusual pizzas. However I couldn't make up my mind on any one, decided to 'research' them at home and ordered a calzone we also ordered some kind of pepperoni calzone that wasn't called a calzone
The medium calzone is pretty big. Half went home for later. A lot of spinach and whole stems of broccoli. While I am a fan of both of these vegetables, I doubt the cook had ever eaten this particular item on the menu. The spinach was in one large pile and the whole thick stems of broccoli were still uncooked inside the calzone and made cutting and eating difficult. Made with fresh ingredients however and tasty.
Lots of cheese in this one, and a thin layer of pepperoni
